Tumblr is 1337!

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Today while I was looking at the source code of one of my Tumblr.com posts, I noticed that at the bottom of the page they have iframe with a z-index of 1337.

Clip2Net

For those that don’t know, in css the z-index sets the stack order of an element. So its basically setting what layer the element is on. Maybe they just really wanted to make sure that its the top layer. ;)

You can’t hide it Tumblr, we know you think you are leet, and I’m going to have to agree with you.

Anyone else think Tumblr is leet?

Funny Microsoft Problem

December 1st, 2007

Does your computer “Randomly Play Classical Music”? Well don’t worry because microsoft has the answer for you.

It turns out that when you are in safe mode, your computer might play “Fur Elise” or “Its a small world” as an indication that your cpu fan is failing/has failed. What? Could they have not come up with anything better than that? Would a little error on the screen not of done it?

If I’m in safe mode is usually because I’m removing a virus or something, then my motherboard starts playing its a small world? I’d probably freak out if that started happening. “Although these symptoms may appear to be virus-like, they are the result of an electronic hardware monitoring component of the motherboard and BIOS”. Well thats good to know, although by the time I read this article I could of already smashed my computer.

Anyway, just though it was pretty funny. Here is the microsoft page about it.

Did you know…

August 22nd, 2007

Did you know is a little program I wrote to generate those tips dialogs from some popular programs. Below is an example.

When you open the program, it asks you for some text, then it will ask you to save it. Its very simple and very fast.

Idea taken from Tech Republic.
